This 8-lesson mini-course from Wilson Hill’s Making of Europe class investigates topics from the beginning of World War 1, including the Assassination of Archduke Ferdinand; the Alliances Honored; Trench Life; Military Technology (Communications, Weaponry, Aircraft, Submarines); Women in World War; and an overview of Major Battles. Join Wilson Hill students as they discuss this important era of world history.

Wilson Hill’s Story of History series covers the flow of history from Bible times through the 20th century, providing students with a backdrop against which they can better engage in the Great Conversation. Students in 5th through 8th-grade get to know the heroes, villains and key events of the period using both biographies and selected works of historical fiction in addition to nonfiction narrative histories (where available).
